Given that I have visited many of the major cities in Europe, it's a kind of mysterious that I never had been to Berlin. I decided that 2015 was the year this had to change. While I was at it I decided that I wanted to see Dresden and Leipzig, and when I heard that Görlitz had a well-preserved old town, I added that city to my itinerary. When I finally opened the guide-book, I learnt about the Elbe valley south of Dresden, an area with the somewhat pretentious name of Saxon Switzerland, and I had a most beautiful day and a half there.
