Even if Singapore is primarily a city destination, you can still do some worthwhile half-day hikes in the forest reserves in the centre of the island, as well as on the rural island of Pulau Ubin in the strait towards Malaysia. As I had never been to the tropics before, this was a good occasion to see some tropical rain forest.
