Romanian bank notes are of unusually high quality. The smallest bill is 1 leu (≈ €0.22), but even these notes have a solid feel, and I never encountered a bill that was noticeably torn. It is also illustrated by this picture. It's a kind of wishing well at the monastery in Sinaia, and despite there is watering dripping on the money, the bank notes are nowhere in a state of a dissolution. Another thing I appreciated was the fact that when I withdraw money from the ATM, I would get a mix of bills, including fairly small denominations. |
