7. Slow Train

This picture is taken from inside a bus with blue-toned windows. Whence the weird colours. I included this picture, because it tells something about Romania. The bus stopped at a railway crossing along the road, but there was no train in sight at first. Then I could see it far away in the distance. It eventually crossed the road, but the speed can at most have been 40 km/h. And this on the very flat Wallachian plain. I have no reason to believe that this is unique. A look in a Romanian train timetable will tell you that trains are slow. Nor are roads that much better. Roads in general have one lane in each direction without any verge, why they easily get congested if there is a slow vehicle. It goes without saying these slow means of transportation hampers the economic development.
