Along Calea Victorei and around Piaţa Revoluţiei you find various important buildings, and the Cercul Militar serves as a good introduction. Built in 1912 in neoclassical style, it is very heavy in its design, and that is a common trait of the older buildings in Bucharest. They are really built to be monumental.
