The Bucegi mountains are part of the Carpathian range that separates Transylvania from Wallachia. I stayed a couple of days in Sinaia, some 50 km south of Braşov to walk in the mountains. There are plenty of hiking opportunities in Romania, but Bucegi is likely to be one of the most accessible alternatives. From this picture we see a view over the Prahova valley and Sinaia.
