About every city in Argentina has a shantytown. In fact some villages you see along the roads are shantytowns throughout. And in some cities you can find a shantytown not fare from the city centre, like here in Jujuy. (Another city with a centrally located shantytown is Buenos Aires; just by the bus station.) After the days in Tilcaara, Humahuaca och Iruya, it was to Jujuy I returned too. My plan was to stay in San Salvador de Jujuy – the full name of the city – to continue the next morning, but a revolting stomach forced me to stay another day, and I had to do the distance to Buenos Aires in one 20-hour bus trip. A few more pictures from Jujuy on the Miscellaneous page. |
