From Salamanca I headed north to Asturias. I took a stopover in León, which has an important role in the history of Spain. You may recall that the Moors conquered almost all of the Iberian peninsula, but in the north some small Christian principalities remained. The reconquista started with the Asturian capture of León. After some feudal divisions León became the leading Christian power, from which the next assault against the Moors would origin.

I don't know much about the building on the picture, but according to my notes it is a bank.
