29. Five-Storey Pagoda

Back Main page Fwd

Toshu-go is the mausoleum after Tokugawa Ieyasu, the first shogun of the Tokugawa shogunate that would last until 1867. As I've already suggested, it's everything and the kitchen sink – and more. This five-storey pagoda is the first thing you see after the entrance.

I visited Toshu-go also in 2009, but I was uncertain how much I got to see, since I was short on time then. For a while, I considered that I would not include any pictures from Toshu-go in this set, but refer to the pictures from 2009. But when I compared with the old pictures, I found the pictures from 2025 to be better in most cases. That could be the brilliant sunshine. Or it could be that I had a better camera this time.
