Korpsuny Park is a big circular park with 200 m in diameter that sits at the very heart of Poltava. It was created in the early 19th century, inspired by the planning ideals of St. Petersburg. (Poltava fell under Russian rule in 1654, and remained so until the dissolution of the Soviet Union.)
