The park map showed that there was a trail that continued back to US-276, and once on the road, I would have to walk some 1½ km to get back to the car. Distance wise, that seemed doable, but the trail was marked as "very strenuous". So far, down to the bridge, it had been a little trickier than the path to the viewing platform, but not much. But once I had crossed the bridge, the difficulty raised steeply. There were also warning signs that the rocks on a river passage further afield may be under water. I also recalled the stunning views from the visitor centre, and realised that the trail must go in the valley below. That is, there would be a steep ascent at the end. Thus, I chickened out and took the same trail back.
