John Pemberton was a pharmacist in Atlanta who made himself immortal by coming up with the recipe of Coca-Cola. His statue is just outside the World of Coca-Cola, the museum dedicated to this beverage. When I entered the museum, I was told to take off my cap – the one I had bought in New Bern at the Birthplace of Pepsi. (I compensated for the cap, by buying a Coke/Atlanta T-shirt in the souvenir shop.)
