The Residenzschloss was another building that was destroyed in the air raids. This is another building that the communist regime for a long time paid neglect to, but in difference to Frauenkirsche they did eventually come around to it, and restoration works started in 1985. Most work was done after reunification, and it seemed like they were still brushing up the last parts when I was there. This wall towards Augustusstraße is certainly elegant.
