This is an elegant inner courtyard of the palace, which is very newly restored. You can see installations from the building works.

But while the building is nice to look at, that is not the main draw. No, the reason you should go here are the museums inside, and particularly the two Green Vaults, the Historische Grüne Gewölbe and the Neues Grüne Gewölbe. The historic vault was originally designed and installed by August the Strong, and the rooms themselves are beautiful to look at, as if the items on display are not enough. And what items! Intricate pieces of art: drinking vessels, small statues, boxes etc, many of them in exclusive materials. The New Vault has perfectly modern rooms, but the items are even more stunning. I need to come back some day – it was impossible to take in all in a single visit.
