Montjuïc is full of things to see, and after some initial aimless wandering, I decided to go to Poble Espanyol. Originally designed and built for the International Exposition in 1929, Poble Espanyol includes buildings from all part of Spain, save for the Canary Islands. (The designers compiled their material by travelling by car and never came to the Canaries.) The village was intended to be a temporary thing, but it was a huge success, and it remains very popular. Partly this is because it is not only a big open-air museum, but also a living area with artisan shops and restaurants. And they don't close early: on weekends it's open to four o'clock in the morning.
