A special feature of Teruel is a number of towers. There are two things that make them special. One is that they are separated from the churches they belong two, the other is the special style they are built in: Mudéjar. This style arose when the Christian kingdom of Aragon had conquered land from the Muslim caliphate and started to build churches with help of Muslim architects and craftsmen.

The finest of these towers is probably Torre San Salvador. It appears to be standing there on its own, but there is actually a church on the left..
