I'm approaching the tip of the peninsula, and in several places the sand is submerged by the water in shallow straits that I had to wade through. As you can see, this was not a very sunny day, but fairly cloudy. I will have to confess that this was something I appreciated. It was hot enough anyway. Walking in below a burning sun would have taken its toll.
