This statue is a few blocks into Rambla Nova. According to a plaque, a popular pastime in this part of Catalonia was form human towers (castells). A couple of men constituted the base, and a few more men formed the tower itself. Note that the persons standing next to the tower are also part of the statue. Some are musicians; you can see a drum for instance. The guy to the left seems to just give vocal support.
