Parc Güell is a park in the western parts of Barcelona, in the Gràcia district. The original plan of Eusebio Güell was that the area would become a housing estate with 60 dwellings, and he commissioned Antoni Gaudí i Cornet to lay out the paths and parks of the area. Commercially, the project was a fiasco – only two houses were built. Eventually, the area became a park open to the public where you can enjoy fine views over Barcelona and be bewildered by Gaudí's brave designs. This is the base to the central terrace in the park.
