The collection of summer pictures for this year is unusually large. There are two reasons for this. One is that this summer offered many good days for excursions, some to new spots, while others to old favourites. The other reason is the new camera that I bought in the end of 2012, a Canon SX50 which sports a zoom of no less than 50X. This invited me to take pictures in places that I already had a lot of pictures from. And the 50X thing is not only a gimmick – there are some 50X pictures in this collection that are really sharp. In particular check out the three dragonflies on pictures 25, 26 and 27. (For the camera nerd, I should add that some days I used my old Panasonic TZ20, because I had too much in my backpack to fit the big camera.)
