The path now leads me into the most fascinating part of Tyresta. In 1999, a big forest fire raged in Tyresta. Then it was presented as a disaster, but forest fireas are a part of the forest ecology. Old trees burn down, and other spieces get their chances (only to succumb after some hundred years, when the big trees are back). The fire area is a very special place, because it is so surreal, not the least if you walk here alone. (And you often do. Most visitors to the park don't find their way here.) Here we are still in the outskirts of the fire area.
