Rotorua is on a lake which is also called Rotorua. There is a smell of sulphur in this town, because there are plenty of hot springs here, and part of the lake also smells sulphur. The chief reason to come to Rotorua is exactly to experience the geothermal wonders, both looking at them and if you are so inclined, bathe in the waters at the Polynesian Spa which is a famous institution. Since in the end, what you get is chlorinated water, I skipped the spa, but wait until the end of the set to see what I did try. I also did some "adventure" things while in Rotorua, but they are covered in the set Ziplining and Jetboating. This set focuses on the geothermal sights.
