The Waikato River drains Lake Taupo and is New Zealand's longest river. I took a jetboat ride on this river. Due to irrigation downstream the river is very calm and the views were beuatiful. In difference to your regular jetboat ride, we disembarked the boat to walk up a stream fed by a hot spring through a narrow passage up to a waterfall. A highly unique experience.
