| Weka is a flightless bird which you encouter in some places on New Zealand. Some people think they have seen a kiwi when they spot a weka, but nothing could be more wrong. (Kiwis are strictly nocturnal.) While it is not uncommon to encounter wekas, it is endangered as are many other New Zealand birds (including the kiwi). | ||
