7. Too Much Snow

We came back to the fork, and entered the right path, which was far less clear than the "maintenance road". This path also went up and up and up. And as we ascended, there was more and more snow. And not only beside the path, no the snow tended to be on the path itself. Probably because the path was deeper down than the grass around, so the snow remained longer there. If you were lucky you could walk upon the snow surface, but every now and then you step through, and have it up to your knees. It started to become very difficult to follow the path.

The Italian told me that he had asked around at the ropeway, and one person had told him that the trail was closed because of snow, but someone else had said it was OK.
