At this point I descended to the underground and took the metro for two stops to the west and ascended at Ohori-koen which is a big open park with plenty of recreational facilities. I saw kids that played baseball and football. In the park there is also a lake, seen in this picture. The park is at the site of the former Fukuoka castle. (Of which only some walls remain. In difference to some other cities, Fukuoka has not rebuilt its castle.)
