The bus arrived shortly after nine, and I checked into my hotel, went to the tourist office and bought a book and an accompanying map with suggestions of various walks and bicycle tours. Then I spend time until lunch to walk around in Saint-Jean itself, and the next suite of pictures serve to give an orientation of this small town.

Nive runs right through Saint-Jean, and you could say that the bridge where the main thoroughfare crosses Nive is the very heart of the city. The rapids of Nive gives Saint-Jean a very relaxing atmosphere, and the fact that the traffic on the main street can be quite heavy at times cannot change that. The weather was wonderful this morning, and when I took this picture, the fog was still lingering.
