As I was approaching this grove, I heard a stronger and stronger sound of bells. I figured that there had to be bell-cows beyond the grove, but, no, the bells were on the horses! The picture does not show it very well, but every horse is carrying a bell. Some evil person forces the horses to live in a constant noise that they cause themselves.
