Finally, it was time to leave for the cruise. I thought I was there well before departure, but the boat was quite full when I arrived. From one point of view it would have been a better idea to rent a bicycle and follow the canal that way. The boat was slow, and the cyclists overtook the barge without any particular effort. On the other hand, I was lucky to get a seat in the front of the ship. Not a very comfortable seat, but it was perfect for taking photos. It would be impossible to get this perspective from the centre of the canal from a bicycle!

The pictures that follow are without comments. The first kilometre or two goes through built-up areas, but after that we are out the countryside. Just enjoy the views!
