We're now in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, and the scene is the main street. This
picture is taken 2-3 hours later than the pictures of the amphitheatre in Arles,
but after a serious downpour in mid-morning the sun is out. (There were a couple
smaller showers in the afternoon, though.) I find the naked trees remarkable for
two reasons. First of all I had expected that at this time of year, the trees by
the Mediterranean would have burst into leaves, but it was not really like
that. Next, the fact that the trees are clinically free from twigs and smaller
branches, make them look very funny. This style is by no means unique to
Saint-Rémy, but you can see this in pictures from several other cities as well.
