A "must" when you are on the Faroes, is to take a boat trip to the bird cliffs at Vestmanna. Although the day I took the right, the shipper opted to go southwards along the Vágar island, as the waves were a bit high on the open sea north of Vestmanna.

When I saw the folder for the boat trips, there was a picture of a fairly modern boat with a salon. However, there was an entire busload, and I ended up with five more people in smaller open boat. My rain trousers proved to be useful.
