Bigger picture

Back in Salta, next excursion was to some bird lakes in the Andes on 3500 m above sea level. Again, Mario from Clark Expediciones was my guide. This time without any other company. (Save the woman that hitch-hiked with us along the desolate mountain road. Hadn't we given her a lift, she would have had to walk 35 km to her home, deep in the mountains.)

The trip went in the same direction as Tren a las Nubes, and partly the road follows the railway, and both starts their climb through the canyon of the Toro river. You see the railway bank in the picture.
