58. View from Brazil

Now I am on the Brazilian side. While you on the Argentinian side go forth and back on a couple of paths and catwalks to see the falls from different angles, the Brazilian side is more straightforward. You follow a path along the river, and in places there are some outlooks. All and all, you are through with it in 2-3 hours. But the views are really marvellous.

Some words on how to do the trip to Brazil. I stayed on the bus all they way to the centre of Foz de Iguaçú, despite the guide book's recommendation to get off earlier. At the bus terminal in Foz, there are touts in fake uniforms that try to lure you into expensive transportation alternatives. (Touts overall is something you see very little of in Argentina, which is nice. I hate touts.) When the bus has passed the Brazilian customs, there is some 500 metres to a crossing. Try to get off there, and then catch the bus to the airport/national park. (The two are close to each other.) If you get some time to spend in the afternoon, you can get into Foz if you are curious.
