We are now the highest point of the road. Transportes Mendoza is a wonderful combination of tourist transport and life-line for the locals, and they stop for a few minutes here, so that we tourists can take our pictures. As you can see from the picture, Iruya is in the Salta province, although the only road there comes from the Jujuy province.
