Baquedano is a pedestrian street that runs from Plaza Arturo Prat. It is lined by older buildings and the pavement is in wood. (Keep in mind that Iquique gets less than 20 mm of rain per year, so the wood stays dry.) But it's a strange feeling: it is around 10-11 in the morning and the street is very quiet. Given the style of the buildings, it's gives you the feeling that you are walking in the scenary for a western movie. To be fair, the street comes to life at night when bars and restaurants open and people come from the beach.
