Once ashore from the boat trip over Lago Todo los Santos, I recolated to a nice hospedaje in Ensenada by Lago Llanquihue. The next day I went down to Cochamó, 50 km south, on the big Reconlavi estuary. I had read about a walk along the Río Cochamó vallue that seemed very nice – and indeed it was.
The full walk is 12 km in a single direction to a camping ground called La Junta. Apparently there are some marvellous views to be had there. However, time did not permit me to walk all the way, but I had to start the descent back at an earlier stage. It was still a very nice walk through a temperated rain forest. Dense, but not as crazily dense as the forest in the national park on Chiloé. And I was lucky to find a turnaround place that was very nice.
The first few pictures in the set are views over the Reconlavi esturary, and the last few are from Cocahmó and the estuary again. The rest are from the walk, and these are generally unnamed and uncommented with an occasional exception.
