Chiloé is an island south-west from Puerto Montt, or to be precise it is an archipelago, dominated by one big island, and then on its east coast in the inland sea south of Puerto Montt there are a number of smaller islands.
Chiloé has beautiful rolling green hills, but it also has cultural attractions. To wit, it has a number of wooden churches that has made it to UNESCO's World Heritage list. And not without reason. These churches are very different from the stone elephants you find in Europe, both in size and design. And material.
I spent two days and a half on Chiloé, which maybe should have been longer. With help of a rental car, I took myself to some of these churches, and I also visited a national park. This set includes pictures from cities and landscapes around the island and I have labelled them by place name. The pictures from the national park are in a separate set.
