In Asturias you also find Picos de Europa, a wild mountain range with good hiking opportunities, not the least for the more adventurous hiker. And, no, I don't count myself among them. I don't mind to be out walking the whole day, but in the evening I want a good meal and a comfortable bed to sleep in. However, there are a few day opportunities in Picos de Europa as well. Arenas de Cabrales is mainly a bunch of a hotels along a road and is a good base. I arrived in the afternoon, and I just went up the slope until I had enough of uphill walking.
