Bulgaria has a sizable Muslim minority since the Ottoman era, and there is an active mosque in the centre of Sofia. (I took this picture on Sunday when the Sun had returned and it was a lot warmer. Alas, my flight was in the afternoon, and I could not stay.) In the foreground, you see excavations from the ancient Serdica.
