Tainan

Tainan is the old capital of Taiwan, and the name means "South Taiwan". (Taipei is "North Taiwan.) There are quite a few sights, and not the least are there many temples in Tainan.

The city itself is not directly on the sea, but a few km inland. Between the main city and the sea is Anping which has its own fair share of sights. North of Anping, along the coast is a national park, although it is criss-crossed by roads.
