18. Small Alley

Taiwanese cities have a number of bigger avenues with lots of traffic, but there are also smaller alleys with quite a different atmosphere. I walked through this particular alley on my way from the bus stop down to the Lotus Pond, a small lake in the Zuoying district, a couple of kilometres from the centre of Kaohsiung. Beside the pond being relaxing as such, there are quite a few temples around the park, of which some have built spectacular extensions out in the lake, as you will see in the upcoming pictures.
