26. Sun Moon Lake

Sun Moon Lake is the biggest lake in Taiwan. Originally mostly a marshland, but transformed into a lake by a Japanese damming project in the 1930s. It is one of the most popular tourist spots in Taiwan, and surrounded by mountains it's certainly beautifully situated. I stayed in Shuishe, the tourist hub on the north side of the lake from where this picture was taken.
