If Taipei 101 is the most famous building in Taipei, the National Palace Museum is undoubtedly the single most biggest tourist attraction on Taiwan, containing a collection of artefacts that started its life with the first Song emperor in 960. When the Nationalists escaped to Taiwan in 1949, they were able to bring large parts of this collection to Taiwan. This particular item is a jade table screen from the mid/late Qing dynasty, 1736-1911. |
