Kamakura is city in the southern parts of greater Tokyo. While it now is just another suburb, Kamakura was the power centre of Japan during the Minamoto shogunate from 1185 to 1333. There are plenty of temples and shrines here, but there is a also a nice trail to take you between the temples through the forest.
