After coming down from the herb garden, I decided to make a quick visit to Kobe downtown, which is a tube stop away from the Shinkansen station. Coming out of the tube, I walked to the left and that proved to be a very plosh part of the city. Here some older buildings that have surivived the WWII bombings, the 1995 earthquake etc, and which have been incorporated in the modern buildings surrounding them.
