3. Garden Entrance

Ritsurin-koen is nicely set against the green mountain on the other side. A quick orientation: Seen from the entrance, the garden falls into two parts, the south and the north garden. The south garden is the bigger and it is also the more stylised part, whereas the north garden is permitted to be a little more untamed. Most pictures are from the south part, and the north part appears towards the end.

You have to pay an entrance fee, but it's only 400 yen, or less than three euros. It's quite a bargain, given the experience you get.
