Back Main page Fwd
Sengan-en is a Japanese garden, created by the Shimazu lords, the family that ruled Kagoshima for centuries. Originally, they lived in their castle, but when it was destroyed in the Satsuma rebellion, they moved to the villa in this garden. Today, both the garden and the villa are open to the public.
