34. Oura Cathedral

This is Nagasaki's oldest cathedral, built in 1864, originally for the growing foreign community in Nagasaki, but which soon welcomed the hidden Christians in Nagasaki.

The church is open for visits, but photos were not permitted. I learnt an interesting titbit: In the end of February 1981, pope John Paul II visited Nagasaki. The photos from the event revealed that it was snow on ground!
