When the ban on Christianity was lifted in the 1870s, it turned out that there was quite a few Christians in Nagasaki that had been holding out. This cathedral was originally built in 1925, but then destroyed in 1945 by you know whom. This is a replica of the original building. The church is open for visits, but no photos are permitted.
