Beppu is a town on the east coast of Kyushu where I only passed briefly on my way to Shikoku. Beppu is full of steam and sulphur and there are plenty of onsens, hot-spring baths. This is an old classic onsen in Beppu downtown. I only enjoyed it from the outside; I had already tried onsen bathing when I was in Kirishima.
